Ballechin was a distillery which sat on both the River Tay and Tummel which is in the “Misty Mountains” of the central Highlands. Ballechin was one of the original seven farm distilleries in Perthshire and owned their own shop from 1880 until 1927. Due to a water dispute that caused their spring water supply to be diverted away from the distillery, this inevitably sealed their fate.
