One of the oldest working distilleries in Scotland, Bowmore has stood for over two centuries. The distillery is located on the Island of Islay and stands on the shores of Loch Indaal. The peaty smokiness of their whisky is created using water fresh from the Laggan River and malting their barley using traditional floor-smoking techniques. It is then left to mature in casks in Vaults below sea level. The conditions of this, the oldest warehouse in Scotland, help the whisky to develop its character.
These traditional techniques have been passed down through generations to ensure that Bowmore whisky keeps its distinctive flavour.
