Distillers Company Ltd
Its name never appeared on a label, but it still holds a lot of influence over the Whisky industry. It all started as a trade cartel to set prices for grain whiskies, but as time went by, their influence grew. By the late 1800s, DLC had grown into a “controlling giant” of the whisky industry and aimed to match Whisky Supply with demand. This all ended in 1986 when it was acquired by Guinness.
