Queen Ann Blended Scotch 1970s / Includes Miniature

With very little still left in circulation, the Queen Ann Blended Scotch is a very sought after piece of whisky heritage. This particular blending of the well known whisky label was appointed to Queen Ann herself making it a piece of whisky and royal heritage.

Accompanying this bottle is a miniature version of the whisky boasting a 70 % proof. With these two products being bottled nearly 50 years ago, the taste has been allowed to mature and develop into something really special. There is no doubt that this product would be appreciated by any lover of whisky, British history or royal history.

About Queen Anne Distillery

This particular whisky having royal appointment marked the life of a Anne Queen of Great Britain. Anne became Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland on 8 March 1702. On 1 May 1707, under the Acts of Union, two of her realms, the kingdoms of England and Scotland, united as a single sovereign state known as Great Britain. She continued to reign as Queen of Great Britain and Ireland until her death.

This whisky was mad to recognise the monarch under whom the sovereign nation of Great Britain was formed and is therefore an important part of British, Scottish, Irish and Welsh heritage.

Nose

The nose of this royal dram boasts notes of malt and brown sugar with oaky notes a plenty. The first initial whiff also presents smells of citrus fruits, albeit a little subtler in nature.

Palate

A truly bitter sweet taste fills the palate. A strong, alcohol taste of grain makes up the body of this tipple along with brown sugar, honey, pepper, liquorice, aniseed, green wood, vanilla and light peat. This particular whisky is a rare example of a truly complex and flavoursome blended scotch whisky. Something that should not be overlooked.

Finish

This whisky has a middle to long finish. The bitter sweet tasting notes of brown sugar, honey, oak, liquorice and pepper return. We recommend trying this whisky on its own and with a drop pf water to notice the change in flavours.
